There is no doubt that Adsense is the major source of income any webmaster should crave for. Unlike you are one of those bloggers with traffic above a million per day, you might not find any money making program like Adsense.
However, for many other reasons, Adsense might not come on the right side for every one, for example, adsense might have banned you, the payment method of Google adsense might not be favorable or, you might have very little traffic. For that reason, looking a good Adsense alternative might be a good thing.
Well, i remember so well that i received my first Google Adsense cheque after 8 months. However, due to the banking system in my country, it took me more than 5 months in order to have that cheque processed. That experience made me to look for some other alternatives to Adsense and this is what i found out
Kontera Ads
My first destination was Kontera, Kontera is text link advertising program which saves a publishers space. The program will generate links which will generate for you money when some one clicks on them. A after a full month of displaying Kontera on ads on my site, i found that, though there where so many page impressions in my Kontera account, and so many clicks, the money earned was very little,
I decided to contact Kontera support, and i was told that most of clicks and impressions where not geographically target. Kontera advertisers only pay for click from geographical locations they specify. Since most of my traffic was coming from poor countries, i was not being paid for the clicks from those countries.
I decided to write back to Kontera and i told that if they can not pay for the impressions from most of the poor countries, then they should not display those links until some one is ready to pay for them. The bad side of it all is that, i was losing traffic to links which did not pay me, so i left Kontera.
Adbrite
My next destination in my search for a good alternative to Google Adsense was Adbrite. Registration was easy and i was immediately approved. So i created Ad Zones which where also approved. Ad Zones in Adbrite are similar to Ad Unite in Adsense.
I found out that most of the times, ads where not showing on my website, instead, there was a home ad which could appear telling people to advertise from my site. Every person who clicks the home ad is straight away taken to the Adbrite site. The same issue i found at Kontera had come again, i was losing traffic to Adbrite yet gaining nothing from them. Too many clicks, many impressions and little or no money, so i left adbrite
Smowtion
I was told by one of the best bloggers that Smowtion is a very good program when it comes to making money online. The good thing with smowtion is that Ads are always available, just like Adsense, the only difference is that with Smowtion, ads are banners only.
I liked Smowtion from the beginning before i got disappointed, i discovered that i had so many clicks since most of there ads are appealing to the users, but there was not any money. So i decided to write to Smowtion support about it. I was told that some of their ads are CPA (cost per action),that a person needed to buy something or register for me to get paid. Well, though some of them where CPM and some CPC, i discovered that i was not earning at all, may be because most of the Ads where CPA.
I realized that i wasa still losing a lot of my traffic for free, so i left smowtion.
Others
I tried many other Adsense Alternatives but i could get the same results. A lot of impressions, many clicks but no money.
Hey
We pay for every single ad click, regardless of what geographical area the ad click is coming from. That being said, it is true that based on what geographical regions advertisers are targeting, ad clicks coming from countries featuring the most desirable ad campaigns will be worth more.
I’d recommend sticking with AdSense, but also adding Kontera to your sites as well. Because AdSense and Kontera are displayed in completely different parts of a webpage, they’re not competing for the same ad clicks and will only add to your overall revenue. Combining the two might help make up for the less valuable ad clicks you’re receiving from countries that advertisers currently aren’t focused on.
If you have any further questions feel free to email me.
