Google Lanches Google+ Facebook Killer

After too many delays, Google has finally launched the Facebook Killer- Google+. The project, which has been delayed several times, constitutes Google’s answer to Facebook

It has been referred to by many as a move to stop the ever growing dominance of Facebook. Google has made some changes on its engine to make it more Social friendly, The familiar gray strip at the top of every Google page will turn black, and come with several new options for accessing your Google+ profile, viewing notifications and instantly sharing content. The notification system is similar to how Facebook handles notifications, complete with a red number that increases with each additional notice

However, Google has this time tried to avoid the mistakes they made while launching Google Buzz which many people have constantly seen as a failed project

Bradley Horowitz, Google’s vice president of product, says that part of the problem was that Buzz was just “tacked on” as a link on millions of Gmail accounts, something that Google won’t be repeating. Horowitz also says that, unlike the Buzz rollout, Google+ is a project that will roll out in stages

The roll out of Google+ will some how be similar to that of Gmail which was at first an Invitation only product. It is not yet clear whether Google+ will be Invitation only too but what we know is that it will be officially Unveiled today

Google+ will include among many other features the ability to spur sharing, Google has added a recommendation engine for finding interesting content, managing and editing multimedia mobile apps, and a chat room
