The long awaited iPhone was officially unveiled by Apple at their headquarters in Cupernito, California at the “Lets Talk iPhone” event
The 4S is also the first Apple handset to come packing Siri virtual assistant tech baked in. Just tap the mic on the keyboard and start talking to enter text, check the weather, get directions or perform web searches
The handset was introduced by Philip Schiller, the Vice President of Apple. It is loaded with an A5 dual core processor, amazing graphics and incomparable processing speed. As expected, its battery life has been improved (up to 8 hours) and an eight mega pixel camera support has been provided. The much anticipated voice assistant called “Siri” is also featured by it!
1) The new device has an A5 processor which will deliver CPU performances up to 2x faster, as well as an astonishing 7x faster graphics performance.
2) The iPhone 4S will work on both GSM and CDMA carrier networks, not just one.
3) The download speed will be twice as fast, and it will support HSDPA.
4) The smartphone features an 8MP Camera with aperture of f/2.4, and comes with an HD 1080p video.
5) A personal assistant called Siri will also be included as one of the main features. The voice powered “humble personal assistant” will allow users to control various functions through voice commands.
Apple has announced the upcoming release of the iPhone 4S for Oct. 14, with pre-orders beginning on Friday.
The next generation iPhone will come in three memory capacities including a 16GB version for $199, a 32GB version for $299, and a 64GB version for $399.
Notifications on the old iOS have always looked clunky ever since Android’s elegant “something’s changed” icons in its top menu bar came along. But on iOS 5 (available across those 200m devices, remember) you just swipe downwards from the menu bar and you get a view on everything that’s changed, with granular detail including what emails have come in (so you can go to them individually) or what events there are to deal with and so on. It’s going to be a more effective shortcut to stuff that needs doing, and leapfrogs Android.
The iPhone 4S camera gives you 8 megapixels — that’s 60 percent more pixels than the camera on iPhone 4. They’re engineered with a higher, full-well capacity to collect even more light. With more megapixels and more light, you’ll see a dramatic difference in the resolution and details of your images. So your photos look stunning everywhere you show them off — on your iPhone, your computer, or your HDTV. And they’re rendered pixel for pixel in prints as large as 8×10.
The unlocked version of the one and only new iPhone 4s (in its only iteration, the 8GB size,) will cost you $99 on a 2-year contract in either its white or black casing. If you’d like to pick up either one of these plain ol’ iPhone 4 units completely off-contract, you’ll be dishing out a total of $549 USD. Similar to the off-contract ship date of the 3GS, both on-contract and off-contract models of this iPhone 4 will be delivered and in stores on the 14th of October.
