Using block quotes in Microsoft word 2007 has given many people a lot of hard times. When i shifted to word Microsoft word 2007 from Word 2007, i discovered first at first sight that Word 2007 was better and simpler. However, there are some things which where not so plain. One of such things is the quote feature.
As a former computer teacher, used to get questions like, how do i use quoting in word 2007?, How do i quote in word 2007?, and How do i use block quotes in word 2007?. All those questions are similar in nature which means that they have the same answer.
Well, quoting in word 2007 is so simple. Just follow the following east steps.
The first step is to select the paragraph or sentence which you want to block quote as in the image below
The second step is to go to the paragraph section which is under the Home tab. Then click on the down arrow as shown in the image below
After clicking on the paragraph arrow, you will then see a dialogue box. The box looks like the one below.
Then look under the indentation section and change the settings to the ones of the block quote you want. In the image above, i change the Left to 0.6″ and the Right to 0.7″. You can see in the preview pane how the block would look like like.
Then click ok and it will be done
Hey, i still have one quick hak for you. Actually, you can save those setting so that each time you want to make a block quote, you will just have to make a single click.
Now, go back to your block quote you have just made. If it is not selected, select it again. Then look at the styles section which is also under the Home tab. Click on the drop down which is under the Styles section and then click on Save Selection as New Quick Style – Just as below
You will then see a small style box, Just name it block quote just as i did in the image below.
After that, just click on Ok. You have now saved your block quote settings. Now every time you want to create a word 2007 block quote, just select the paragraph you want to block quote, then click on the arrow under styles and select Block Quote
