Google+ has decided to change the look of the site to a one which many users have welcomed. It is a change which have taken long but many of us expected it to come sooner or late. The new changes have made Google Plus to look somehow but not all like Facebook.
When Plus Google launched a few months back, Google hoped to get many users from other networking users especially Facebook. But many Facebook viewed the newly launched Google+ as not being user friendly thus leaving it for the webmasters. Actually, one Google employee mistakenly published on his G+ profile claiming that the platform had failed.
Google stepped up its measures to make the application popular even to the non web savvy users, one of the methods they used was to integrate Google Search My world in the Google search results. This did not come without criticism but Google was not moved.
But Google has not stopped on that, we all know that for a site to grow, it needs good on site optimization, Yes, it is not for the webmasters who want to get Google Love, but Google too is fully aware of the goodness of onsite optimization. Google has now introduced a new look for G+ and the new features include the ones below.
The Google Plus chat feature has been moved to the right just like it is with Facebook. At first, the names of the friends online used to be at the left side in a place not so simple to spot.
The main feature area has also been moved to the left just as it is with Facebook. You can now find the profile, home, hangouts, photos and others can been found at the left side where many people who use different social networks expect them to be.
You can also see the “People You May Know” feature some where at the right side. For those who have been using other social networks, you will surely know that such a feature is a common one.
One new thing you might not be seeing on other social networks is the “Trending on Google+), of course you can not find this feature anywhere else since it is Google+ specific.
Well, i would like to think that Google+ is not taking any chances in the battle to control the web. After Facebook struck deals with Yahoo and other web giants, it looked like Google was left alone. But according to what we can see, it seems like Google will be able to walk to the end and as Google+ continues to be user friendly, we might see Google+ taking over facebook sometime in future.
