Search Engine Optimization is the path to Success for those who want to thrive on the Internet. Many webmasters spend a lot of there time practicing search engine optimization (SEO) methods just to have their websites rank high in search engines.

There is nothing else which can make a webmaster happy than having his/her sire rank number one in the major search engines like Google and Yahoo or Bing. But it is not always an easy thing, SEO is a game where we have winners and losers. The sad truth is that the losers are always more.

There is a lot of competition when it comes to search engine optimization. Some people are even doing it in a bad way by dis crediting there competitors. There are some very competitive niches like Making money online and Health where website masters are working hard to make their sites and blogs stand out.

I have realized that many people are wasting a lot of their time focusing on people who compete with them in their niches. Many Webmasters who own Link directories do not accept links from people who compete with them, others who have blogs and sites do not accept comment links from their competitors.

I my self own a number of sites, i have recently discovered that my competitors are doing a lot of SEO. I can see them on some of my popular blogs, sites and forums. They are creating back links from virtually anywhere. This sacred me at first, but not any more.

I do not know how you feel when you realize that your people in your niche are doing a lot of SEO. As i said, SEO is a game where only a few win. Take this example, there are only 10 slots on the Google first page and over 10,000 in some niches are fighting for those slots, the fact is that only 10 people will go through and the rest will settle for other places.

As i have already said, when i realized that my competitors on one of my favorite and popular where working hard to bring me down, i go scared at first. But i remembered that i went up not because of SEO but because of my unique content. I did not run to blog directories, Article marketing, social bookmarking or Rss feeds for back links. I just continued with more unique content. That blog of mine is still number one after 3 years, i do not fear my competitors
