Keywords are the biggest priority to optimize your site and therefore it is important that you use the right keywords so that search engines aim at your keywords. You yourself need to check what people are looking for and get their reservations right to your website.
Most of the times SEO’s and web designers feel that providing good content on their website will fetch them top rank in search results but that’s however not true. The name of the topic you write on needs to be present in the content or even if not the full name then the keyword should be clearly mentioned. Suppose you write on a topic “cellphones”, now the word cellphones needs to be present in the content several times and if not then the chances of it to appear on the Search Engine Result Page will be negligible.
A search engine makes sure to get results for the exact keyword that a person types. Queries for ‘Modem’ will differ from the results of ‘modems’, so it is important that you use both the singular and plural form of the keywords in your content.
Use the software developed by Google “Adwords Keyword Tool”. It will check the content on you page and will suggest you the keywords which needs optimization. You download the software and it will guide you through the rest of the process, at the end of the process a table will be presented in front of you with 4 columns and those are Keyword, Advertiser Competition, Average Search Volume and Search Volume for last month.
Now Google has performed all the hard work for you and all you on your part have to do is to lift and select which ones you need to aim and manually optimize in your content. Don’t go figuring it out yourself and trying different keywords as you will waste a lot of time and energy as you still won’t be available with the solution. So leave it all on the software hands.
First you need to sort out the column of Average Search Volume by clicking right on the title itself. This will display an army of keywords in descending order. It will display the average in last 12 months and the popular ones which are fetching the most reservations by volume. Last month column is as important as others because if it is less than average search volume than the keyword you used may have drowned these days.
The Advertiser Competition tells us the number of advertisers bidding on a specific keyword comparative to all keywords crossways Google. If a lot of people bid on a keyword then the competition for that specific keyword will be high on getting the top position in search engine results.
So basically you go for the keywords with comparatively high average search volume but a little low competition. Generally keywords are a bunch of 2 to 3 phrases which have superior search volume but low competition, aim those and accumulate many more.
Now you have a basic idea on how to go about optimizing your keyword for search engine market. Though a thing does not end there and you have to do some self-research too. This will give you the luxury to get a concluding idea on which type of keywords would work fine for you.
